In 2022,  multi well successful drilling campaign demonstrated the existence of what was originally called the “Olympus Area”, a collection of structures located adjacent to other discovered fields – in between Energean’s Karish & Tanin fields. These discoveries were formally approved by the Israeli Government as the “Katlan” (Orca) reservoirs in May 2003.

Katlan will be developed following Karish & Karish North. A field development plan was approved by the Israeli Government in 2023. Phase 1a will focus on the Athena and Zeus structures. Phase 1b will target Hera and Apollo. Production will be tied back to the Energean Power FPSO, with initial gas production to be delivered to contracted Israeli clients.

Final Investment Decision will be taken in 2024.
