Vega, operated by Energean, is an offshore oil field located in the Sicilian Channel 20 km south of Pozzallo.

Energean holds a 100% W.I. in the field after it acquired ENI’s 40% interest in 2020, (pending approval from the Italian authorities). 

Vega A has been producing since 1984.

The Vega platform, located in a water depth of 124 metres, is the largest in Italy. The field has been developed with 24 wells. The platform has a capacity to process 60,000 barrels of oil per day and is supported by a floating storage and offloading tanker (Leonis) with a capacity of 110,000 tons to temporarily store production. The crude oil is transported from the Leonis FSO to refineries by shuttle tankers.

The Vega B development project represents a further potential to complete the full exploitation of the production lease. is pending.
