Energean supported 1st Petrochem Day, organized by Chemecon, an NGO established by students of the Chemical Engineering School of the National Technical University of Athens.

It has always been a pleasure for Energean to support the next generation of scientist, the human resources which will staff the hydrocarbon sector in the Eastern Mediterranean.

Petrochem was the first conference focused on hydrocarbons ever to be organised by Chemecon, an NGO established by students of the Chemical Engineering School of the Technical University of Athens. They asked us to support them and we gladly accepted.

And we really enjoyed it!

Petrochem Day was held at the Amphitheatre of the "Michalis Kakogiannis" Foundation in Athens. Hundreds of students, members of the academic community and company executives attended and had the chance to hear distinguished speakers presenting topics related to the hydrocarbons cycle.

Dr. Konstantinos Nikolaou, Energean's Technical Advisor, spoke about hydrocarbons exploration and exploitation and presented to the young audience Energean's activities in the Eastern Mediterranean.

Vassilis Tsetoglou, Energean's Health, Safety and Environment Manager, spoke about the safety rules and procedures at the offshore installations.

Both answered several questions, as the audience demonstrated a great interest in the way a leading E&P company operates.

During the Conference intervals, Energean's stand welcomed several students who wanted to know more about the options Greece's sole oil and gas producer provides as far as employment and internships are concerned

We were very happy to be among them and we will be more than proud to employ some of them in the future!
