At Energean, we are proud of our long-standing commitment to supporting and improving the lives of those with disabilities and contributing to a world that is inclusive for everyone, regardless of their challenges. Today is United Nations’ International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPWD) - we want to reflect on our continued efforts to foster inclusivity and empower those who face physical and mental challenges.

This dedication is embedded in our daily work and actions. We continue to provide support to organizations such as MDA Hellas, the Special School of Kavala, the A.O. Kavala Wheelchair Basketball Team, the Italian Paralympic Swimming Federation, The Special Olympics (Italy), and many others. These collaborations are part of our ongoing mission to support individuals with disabilities and ensure that they have equal opportunities to thrive. When we say, we partner with local communities that host our operations, this means everyone in the community.

This year, we are especially proud of the record number of Energean employees who participated in the 5km race in support of MDA Hellas. This marked our fourth consecutive year supporting this organization, which has been dedicated to improving the lives of those with neuromuscular diseases since its founding in 2000. Our employees’ participation demonstrates the collective enthusiasm and solidarity within our company to help those in need.

All of our community engagement and broader ESG operations are aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). They form a practical foundation for Energean to invest and engage – in this case SDG10, “Reduced Inequalities.” By raising awareness and empowering our employees to engage in these efforts, we contribute to the global goal of reducing inequalities and creating a more equitable society for all.

Giving back to the communities we operate in is one of Energean’s core values. It is not just about what we do - it’s about how we do it, with a spirit of collaboration and respect for everyone – trying to create as much shared fun as possible.  We are proud of the impact we’ve made and the partnerships we’ve built, but we know there is always more work to be done.

At Energean, we remain committed to creating an inclusive, supportive environment for everyone, both inside and outside our company. As we continue to grow, we will keep striving to ensure that our actions align with our values of equality, accessibility, and community engagement. Together, we can build a world that embraces diversity and offers equal opportunities for all.

This year in Greece we marked the occasion by donating an interactive educational floor to the 1st Special Primary School of Kavala and essential oil production equipment to the Special Vocational Education and Training Laboratory in Nea Karvali. These contributions aim to enhance educational opportunities and promote social inclusion, equality, and accessibility for all students, regardless of their physical or mental challenges.

This Sunday marked the second event organized by FINP to promote Paralympic swimming. The event was held in memory of Antonio Casolino, a local legend who found life in the water. The swimming community of Molise and Termoli, united at the San Salvo municipal swimming pool, Energean was delighted to join them.

This International Day of Persons with Disabilities, we encourage everyone to reflect on how we can continue to support one another and take meaningful steps towards building a more inclusive world for all.
